Mr. N S Napalchyal has been appointed as Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand on December 2 2009. He has succeeded Mr. I K Pandey as 7th Chief Secretary of the state.
Mr. Napalchyal is 1976 batch IAS officer and was serving as Additional Chief Secretary & FRDC before taking over as Chief Secretary.
Government of Uttarakhand has developed Uttara Portal with the help of IIT Roorkee whereby all departments and directorates etc. have been given space for structured website. Alongwith various departments have NIC hosted websites also.

Department of Finance, Government of Uttarakhand, has initiated Viability Gap Funding Scheme 2008 vide Office Memorandum No. 474/XXVII(7)/2008 dated 17th December 2008. This scheme is designed for promoting Public Private Partnership in physical and social infrastructure in the state.
